In April 2025, Tannahill Intermediate closed its doors after 28 years of service. Through the WSISD bond program, the campus was reborn as the Fine Arts Academy at Tannahill—a new chapter that called for a creative, high-performance flooring solution. Working with the Tarkett Design On Demand team, Jenkins Contract Flooring helped bring that vision to life with a vibrant, modern flooring layout that complements the school’s focus on fine arts.
The existing VCT flooring throughout the school was outdated and visibly worn, diminishing the overall look and feel of the space. As the campus transitioned into a fine arts academy, WSISD sought a bold new interior that reflected its creative mission and could withstand high student traffic in both the corridors and the cafetorium.
Jenkins Contract Flooring partnered with Tarkett to install Event+ Abstract LVT, a heavy-duty luxury vinyl tile engineered for commercial environments. The new design featured a custom “confetti-style” layout that balanced a sleek gray field color with three vibrant accent tones—each chosen to coordinate with the existing wall tile and energize the space.

Conducted in-situ F2170-compliant moisture testing using Wagner Rapid RH L6 probes for accuracy and automated data reporting
Removed aging VCT using a ride-on scraper for speed and safety
Mechanically stripped adhesives using diamond-grit grinding tools
Prepped concrete slab to meet all installation tolerances
Installed using Tarkett 959 HM adhesive, rated for up to 95% RH moisture conditions
The Fine Arts Academy at Tannahill now features a bright, inviting interior that honors its roots while paving the way for future creativity. The new flooring not only withstands heavy daily use but also inspires with its modern color scheme and artistic flair. Students and staff are welcomed into a space that feels refreshed, unified, and built to last.
